Q: How do I make the decision to compete?
A: Just make it ! Go through the process, enjoy it, learn, grow and get in the best shape of your life and then determine if you want to continue. Everyone has their own “WHY”. Determine your why and let that drive you every day throughout the process.
Q: How do I get started?
A: Find a coach that you vibe with, that has education, experience and that you trust to guide you to the stage. Whom ever that may be…that is where you start. Do you own research and the best decision that fits your preferences and needs. After you pick a coach, (hopefully me)….You should get a physique assessment, training, nutrition recommendations and overall support from start to finish. From there all you do is continue to advocate for your health and have trust in your coach. If at any time, something doesnt feel right…..be open and honest and always ask questions.
Q: When should I hire a coach and what do I need to have done prior?
A: Hire immediately, as soon as you make a choice to start training. Your coach will ensure that you are on a solid training plan and nutrition in your building season (most important) and that you are practicing critical habits needed to be successful when it is time for prep. Q: What are your experiences with bodybuilding and training athletes? Why do you Coach?
A: I am fairly new to bodybuilding but have been training athletes for over 15 years in the U.S. Army. Many of you reading this may be saying, bodybuilding is different than training Soldiers and you would be RIGHT ! For a solid 2 years, I have went all in for bodybuilding education side of things and have worked with show promoters, worked backstage at shows, competed myself, earned 2 physique enhancement certifications one of which I received 1-1 feedback and mentorship from Dr. Joe Dr. Klemczewski who is known as the creator of flexible dieting. In 2023, I will graduate with my Masters of Science in Nutrition. I have been a Master Fitness Trainer in the Army since 2013 and all the information and experiences used working with Soldiers are the same coaching experiences that I will apply to help athletes to the stage. With all this being said, Education AND experience is key for choosing your coach. I am in the beginning stages of developing my team and experiences, but the education is there and the passion that I have for the sport is there! I love to see people achieve new levels in fitness. When I achieved my goal of competing, it was such an amazing experience and I want to bring that to empower men and women to do the same. I coach because the bodybuilding community makes me want to contribute to the sport and not just compete. I want to use my knowledge, passion, determination to impact lives on and off the stage.
Q: Do you coach clients who are using Performance Enhanced Drugs (P.E.D)
A: No, This is my choice.
Q: What qualities are you looking for in athletes preparing for the stage?
A: These qualities are developed over time, but I will say…..hard work, discipline, focus, drive, passion, organization, mental toughness, and the ability to be uncomfortable would be some of the top ones to either HAVE or be willing to work on.
Q: What are your thoughts on comp prep cardio:
A: Less is best. Most of the time it is just necessary to achieve stage lean but everyone is different. Cardio chips away at lean muscle mass when done in excess so we will do enough to get results. Some people will have to push harder than others and thats ok.
Q: Do I have to be local to work with you?
A: No ! I coach nationwide and internationally if given opportunity. Coaching platform is easy to understand and communicate. Most people ask for in person training and if you need that…..It is fine. You can work with a local trainer to assist you.
Q: Do you give refunds on programs purchased if athlete changes their mind?
A: No, all information given to athlete is able to be downloaded and kept for life. Must be extenuating circumstances for refund. The time and effort that it takes to write everyone’s plan is significant to myself as a coach. If you decide not to compete, we can switch the focus of your training to performance or overall health based goals. This is known as moving from competition plans more to a lifestyle one.
